I’m starting a Twitter experiment today. For the next month, I will only tweet personal opinions and thoughts (no links). There’s a couple of reasons for this. I want to see if if it garners me more followers than my previous monthly average of about 10, but mostly I want to try and find my voice again.

This hyperlinked, hyperreal, interwebbed world of sharing, linking and retweeting is all well and good but originality trumps it all. Witness the success of shitmydadsays.

At the root of this is a sense that I’m losing the courage of my convictions. It’s pretty easy to develop a sense of online inferiority when follower numbers remain stagnant and blog hits start to slow. I’m losing the thread of why I’m doing this, and in the process losing what virtual identity I may have had. I want to find that thread again.
